We are seeking a dynamic and experienced communications professional to spearhead our new leadership communications function. This pivotal role will lead a high performing team to support the senior leaders of the RBA as they deliver on the bank’s unique mandate to promote the economic welfare of all Australians.

You will report to the CCO (Chief Communications Officer) and have the responsibility for building on the reach and impact of the RBAs work and support the delivery of the Bank’s, and the communications department’s, strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Leader Communications: Working with the CCO, develop and execute communication and engagement plans for the Governor, Deputy Governor and members of the Executive Committee.- Drive reach and impact: Lead the development and execution of an audience strategy in order to both amplify the RBAs voice in Australia’s economic conversation and to expand the RBAs reach and impact in the community.- Collaborative Messaging: Collaborate closely with the Head of Media to build community insights into messages and content for external audiences. Partner with the Head of Employee Experience to ensure coordinated delivery of leadership messaging across the RBA.- Open and Dynamic: Support senior leaders to inspire an open and dynamic culture that reflects the RBA’s values, fostering high levels of staff engagement and performance.- Campaign Delivery: Scope and lead the design, delivery and measurement of external engagement campaigns.- Partner with Senior Leaders: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior executives and members of the RBA Board and policy team to ensure successful delivery of communication and engagement activity.- Strong Communications : Plan, develop and edit briefs, talking points, presentations and written communication within tight timeframes.- Crisis and Issues Management: Support CCO with crisis communications, connecting into Employee Comms team to ensure employees are informed and up-to-date to minimise risk and support operations, and with the Head of Media to drive alignment of messaging and approach.- Team Management: Build and lead high performing team through clear goal setting, context sharing, effective delegation a central briefing system/tool that enables effective resource planning, and active leadership in development of direct reports.

Capabilities & Experience:
- Extensive experience developing and implementing strategic communication programs for c-suite executives and non executive directors.- Proven track record in designing, delivering and measuring external campaigns.- Excellent written and verbal communication written and verbal communications skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas in speeches and correspondence.- Experience using multiple channels on behalf of an organisation.- Strong stakeholder management skills.- Experience designing and executing events.- Strong stakeholder management skills.- Experience leading a small team of communications professionals.
