**About the Role**

The Head of Trading Operations - Racing is a senior leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence within the Racing trading function. This role will lead the Team Leads, Senior Traders, and associated trading teams, ensuring the efficient and effective execution of trading strategies while fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and innovative culture.

In this role, you will build and nurture a high-performing trading team through clear goals, coaching, and career development. You will foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement, while leading talent development by identifying high-potential individuals and providing tailored development plans. Additionally, you will create succession planning strategies to ensure long-term leadership continuity and lead by example, promoting company values and expected behaviors.

Operational excellence will be achieved by developing and implementing processes that enhance trading efficiency and accuracy, ensuring robust reporting, data accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards, whilst collaborating with global teams to align best practices and leverage shared expertise.

**Responsibilities Include**
- Lead and develop Team Leads and Senior Traders through coaching, feedback, and performance management.
- Drive operational excellence by implementing process improvements, automation, and best practices.
- Develop and oversee the execution of trading strategies to ensure we deliver against strategic objectives.
- Implement strategic trading initiatives in partnership with internal teams, including Product, Technology, Data Science and Commercial.
- Manage trading performance through data-driven insights, performance reviews, and proactive risk management.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the team remains at the forefront of market developments.

**About You**

We’re looking for someone with the following skills:

- Trading Expertise: Deep knowledge of racing markets, pricing, and risk management.
- Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive decisions.
- Tech & Automation: Familiarity with trading systems, algorithms, and automation tools.
- Process Optimisation: Expertise in improving workflows and enhancing operational efficiency.
- Risk & Compliance: Understanding of operational risk controls and regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
