We are the largest cancer charity in NSW and our point of difference is that we work across every area of every cancer, from research right through to support. **About the team** This role sits within the Community Engagement team who works at a local level to form sustainable relationships to ensure Cancer Council NSW have a visible and relevant presence in community and can effectively respond to our communities' insights and needs. This role has a focus on internal and external relationships and partnerships; management of volunteers; and community engagement principles and practices. **About the role** This is an exciting permanent full-time opportunity to make your mark in Cancer Council NSW. Based primarily in our Woolloomooloo and Erina offices with flexibility to work from home, the role will cover communities across the Greater Sydney and the Central Coast communities. As this is a community facing role, this role requires you to travel extensively in the Metro Sydney and Central Coast Communities. Reporting to the Community Lead, this role is responsible for identifying and engaging key community stakeholders to foster a conversation between communities and CCNSW, build sustainable relationships and ultimately improve cancer outcomes through the implementation of effective research, prevention, advocacy, information, and support services. This role requires excellent relationship management skills, experience in community engagement and an ability to gather and use community insights, data, and public health information to improve cancer outcomes. Some of the key responsibilities of this role are - Build and maintain relationships with key community stakeholders including priority populations to effectively gather and utilise community insights to implement Cancer Council programs and services. - Community program coordination, including planning, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of programs and project - Identification of gaps in service provision for people affected by cancer and assessing organisational and local capacity to address the need for new or additional programs and/or support services - Facilitating the implementation of cancer prevention, information, support and advocacy programs, ensuring demonstrative support - Create ongoing opportunities for volunteers to participate in the development, prioritization, and delivery of Cancer Council NSW programs **About You** - Demonstrated success in the engagement and development of strong and effective relationships with health and community care professionals, and government and non-government organisations. - Experience engaging local communities/organisations to support a cause related issue. - Success in the development of the public profile of a community-based organisation/program. - Understanding of the practical support and emotional needs of cancer patients, their families, and friends. - The ability to travel around the regional area as needed to support and grow community engagement. **About the Benefits** - Work for purpose and know that your work fosters an engaged, diverse and culturally aware organisation. - Access to flexible work arrangements including a balanced approach to WFH and office. - Generous salary packaging options that can increase your take home pay by paying certain expenses using pre-tax dollars up to $15,900 a year. - Additional performance-based leave available. - Discounts available for everyday expenses such as private health, retail and fitness. - Recognised for Voice Project's 2021 "Best Workplace" Award.
