About the team

The Marketing & Fundraising Division is embarking on an ambitious 5 year growth plan. A key part of this plan is an ambitious agenda to develop a best-in-class Philanthropy program. This will mean harnessing the possibilities available in our database, our philanthropic partners and key external partnerships to transform the program.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, the Philanthropy Unit Coordinator will be responsible for providing project coordination and administrative support across the Philanthropy Unit. This role will primarily include financial reporting, donor communications, prospect research of Major Donors and Corporate Partners, and administrative and logistical support with key donor stewardship and cultivation events.

Key responsibilities of the role

  • Financial administration: monthly budget reconciliation and tracking, quarterly tied funding tracking, issuing and payment of donor and supplier invoices, reconciliation of credit cards.
  • Communication administration: including development of content for CCNSW's website and social channels
  • Events administration: assisting with donor stewardship events, including preparation of briefing notes, run sheet and management of event finances
  • Project coordination: supporting the Head of Philanthropy and leadership team with key projects to support our philanthropic growth ambitions
  • Support the Philanthropy Unit with ongoing management and hygiene of donor data in CRM. prospect research of potential new Major Donors and Corporate Partners, and beneficiary partnership project planning/implementation
  • Support the development and optimisation of unit policies and procedures
  • Management of third-party stakeholders associated with partner engagement activity including volunteering and workplace giving platforms.
  • Conduct philanthropy sector market scanning as directed by Unit Leads and management of Media Monitor insights.

About you

Essential

  • Experience in fundraising and marketing, events, sales or public relations.
  • A self-starter attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Demonstrated experience building relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
  • Proven ability to show initiative, work collaboratively, prioritise work requirements, consult appropriately and respond to direction.
  • High level of competency with Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with a basic understanding of databases.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of fundraising practices and the philosophy of charitable giving.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, Raisers Edge
