Operated by Healthscope, Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) is located in Frenchs Forest, only 13kms north of Sydney CBD. The hospital is a contemporary 488 bed facility comprising of 60% public and 40% private beds. Providing a wide range of health services to the local community, including Surgery, a 50 bed Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Birthing, Paediatrics, Cardiac, Mental Health, Dialysis, Cancer Centre and Outpatients.
NBH has 13 operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheter theatre, two Catheter Laboratories and four endoscopy procedure rooms, all supported by a critical care unit which includes two intensive care wards.

**About the Role**
We are seeking an experienced Medical Administrator/Receptionist to work in our busy medical practice adjacent to the Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) Emergency Department on a part time permanent basis. The role is responsible for the provision of high quality reception and billing support services to General Practitioners. This role will work Monday & Friday 9am - 5pm only, with potential to pick up more shifts.
You will make an impact by:

- Undertaking administrative duties including meet and greet patients, take all incoming calls and book patient appointments
- Update and maintain confidentiality of patient records
- Ensure patients are billed in an accurate and timely manner
- End-of-day reconciliations and banking
- Deliver excellent customer service in each and every interaction

The bulk-bill NBH Medical Centre offers both scheduled appointments & walk-in services. The Medical Centre is the staff health practice, including provision of immunisations, management of needle stick injuries etc. The Centre’s clinical staff will include GPs, nurses & allied health.

Medical Centre Operating hours are:
Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm
Saturday 9am - 5pm
Sunday 10am - 4pm

As a high performing team member you will have:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build rapport with patients
- Medical reception experience in a busy medical centre
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Understanding of and experience with Australian health insurance schemes and patient billing arrangements
- Exceptional customer service experience
- Competent in using various software packages (preferably patient record and healthcare related)
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines
- Ability to prioritise work while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Attention to detail.
