**About the Area**
The School of Humanities and Social Inquiry consists of a collection of Discipline areas, including History, Philosophy, Sociology, Politics and International Studies, Indigenous Studies, and Languages. We are a leading team of scholars who train students to think historically, philosophically and politically about the world, societies and cultures. We aim to equip students with the critical, analytical and interpretation skills necessary to question existing beliefs, social systems and institutions, and make a real impact on the world. The School is home to the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of International Studies, and the Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics degrees.
The Discipline of Sociology has teaching and research strengths in social theory and research methods, emotions and society with a focus on happiness, health, illness and society, political sociology and globalisation, diverse societies and cultures, power, inequality and social movements.
