A large federal government department is seeking an experienced EL2 for the regulation & legislation team.

**Your new company**

This Federal Government Department is responsible for bettering the health services for Australia and its future generations. This section is responsible for the development and implementation of changes to complex health services which include all regulations and legislative determinations and amendments.

**Your new role**

Your new role will see you take on the management of a team of 6 legal policy experts who manage all changes to regulations and legislative determinations in regard to medical services. You will also be responsible for the following:

- You and your team will be the central point of contact between the policy teams and the Office of Parliamentary Counsel.
- You will be responsible for maintaining important relationships with the health professional industry as well as other government departments.
- You will draft all legislative determinations under the Act and submit them for approval by the Departments Executive.

**What you'll need to succeed**

In order to be successful in this position, you will have experience working as an EL2 within the APS as well as the following:

- Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to lead from the front and demonstrate the APS values.
- Experience in working in similar legislative-based positions and ideally have legal qualifications.
- Strong stakeholder negotiation skills and the ability to maintain productive working relationships.
