About the role

Artisan Legal is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our team in Canberra on a casual basis. In this role, you will provide vital administrative and organisational support to our legal professionals, ensuring the smooth running of our operations. As a Legal Assistant, you will play a crucial part in enabling our lawyers to deliver exceptional service to our valued clients.

This position would be ideal for a Law Student looking to gain experience in working in a legal environment or for someone interested in starting a career in the legal industry.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing comprehensive administrative support, including drafting correspondence, managing calendars, and coordinating meetings
  • Maintaining and organising electronic and physical filing systems to ensure efficient document management
  • Filing and managing safe custody of documents
  • Attending the court registry to file or to deliver documents to other third parties
  • Helping to gather relevant information and materials
  • Providing excellent customer service to clients, both in person and over the phone
  • Collaborating with the wider team to ensure a cohesive and efficient work environment

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite and legal-specific software

  • A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to work well under pressure
