Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) was formally established in 1930, is the governing body for surf lifesaving in Queensland and comprises of 57 affiliated surf lifesaving clubs in six regional branches which service more than 34,000 members.

Our organisation encompasses several diverse arms; Lifesaving services, Community education, Membership services, Surf sports, Fundraising and Commercial training.

**About the Role**

Reporting to the General Manager - Lifesaving & Education, this role will provide administrative and member communication assistance to Surf Life Saving Queensland members, focusing on service delivery responsiveness and administrative executive support to business programs. The Business Support Officer will also play a key role in creating resources and facilitating planning meetings in preparation for stakeholders, quality assurance support, and project administration.

**Role Responsibilities**
- Assisting with the monitoring of compliance with policy, procedures, work instructions, and other organisational and legislative requirements
- Project administration and coordination including daily administration duties, managing stakeholder engagement, meeting coordination, raising purchase orders and invoices, as well as maintaining/updating all files.
- Assessing potential impact on proposed, existing, and new business opportunities.
- Conducting service reviews and stakeholder surveys / customer research and analysis, implementing the outcomes to ensure continuous improvement that is customer driven.
- Promoting the professional image of the SLSQ Operations internally and externally through highly effective written and verbal communication, including supporting website content, newsletter articles.
- Supporting effective induction processes, including scheduling probation reviews and training for all GM Lifesaving & Education direct reports and aiding in this process for all Operations Managers reports
- Assisting in the development of systems to maintain data and statistics to inform service delivery and contribute to accountability for outcomes achieved, in consultation with GM Lifesaving & Education
- Regularly monitoring and reviewing services to complete monthly dashboards, quarterly reporting, including quality reports and auditing, continuous improvement, risk and compliance matters for the GM, Lifesaving & Education
- Coordination or support of events through the organisation
- Providing overall operational support to Lifesaving and Education that deliver member centred service delivery

**About You**
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Relevant qualification preferred e.g. psychology, social work or welfare or equivalent experience
- Ability to work independently and multitask
- An articulate communicator verbally and in writing.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills
- Outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Office suite knowledge and skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Experience and empathy for lifesaving or a similar community-based organisation desirable but not essential.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of child safety legislation and/or frameworks
- Ability to research effectively and implement findings
- Exceptional conflict resolution skills
- Open Driver’s License (required)
- Working with Children Suitability (Blue) Card (required)
- Department of Sport and Recreation - Member Protection Information Officer Training (desirable)
