**About the Role**
Ready to take on an essential leadership role with broad impact, delivering strategic outcomes and ensuring fundraising success? This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader with broad management experience in delivering organisational development and capability programs. You will join a passionate, altruistic team and have a high-level of autonomy, with the scope to have significant influence on operations.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Advancement Operations, the Associate Director, Advancement Capability (AD), will lead the organisational development of our department.
You will be responsible for ensuring we have the necessary capabilities and resources to achieve the University's Advancement goals. This will involve overseeing all aspects of organisational development, including internal staff development, coaching, training, and recruiting external talent. Additionally, you will collaborate with colleagues to develop programs and provide customised support that enhances the knowledge and understanding of philanthropy among academic staff and enables them to effectively engage in fundraising and philanthropic activities.
The AD will work closely with Advancement leadership to understand team priorities, offer guidance on skill enhancement, and identify opportunities for talent development. Staying informed about philanthropy trends and learning from peer institutions in the US, UK, and Canada will also be essential for this role.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to Advancement leadership on organisational development, design, and best practices.
- Oversee the team's growth plan, including recruitment, hiring processes, and budget monitoring.
- Develop and implement comprehensive onboarding, coaching, and training programs for new hires and external consultants.
- Enhance and manage the ADVANtage organisational development program for all Advancement staff, and design specialised programs for academic colleagues and senior leaders.
**Who we are looking for**
You are skilled in forming and managing relationships, negotiating, and influencing to achieve strategic objectives. You excel at building collaborative relationships with senior management, colleagues, and a wide range of stakeholders. Your advanced decision-making and problem-solving abilities enable you to navigate complex situations and multiple stakeholders effectively. Your creativity and innovative thinking drive strategic advice, and your strong digital literacy allows you to leverage technology for creative solutions.
You will also have:
- A post-graduate qualification, or an equivalent combination of relevant extensive experience and/or education/training.
- Significant experience in a management position in a relationship driven sector or organisation.
- Experience in leading complex, muti-faceted programs.
- Proven experience in designing, implementing and managing medium-large scale projects.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and implementing policy and procedures.
