**Who we are**
People Division, led by the Chief People Officer (CPO), provides human resources (HR) functions for the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (the department) with a clear focus on the department’s most valued asset: its staff. Alongside contemporary HR functions, projects and strategies, People Division is also responsible for:

- enhancing the department’s focus on safety,
- enterprise bargaining,
- cultural and change management, and
- the department’s response to Australian Public Service (APS) reforms.

People Branch is responsible for the department’s strategic and operational HR advice, strategies and support services, with a focus on enabling business areas to meet their workforce needs. The People Branch is responsible for:

- Recruitment and Employment Programs
- Workforce Planning, HR Reporting and Establishments
- SES Unit
- Learning and development and talent management
- HR Help
- Inclusion
- Workplace Relations (including enterprise bargaining)
- Onboarding
- SAP Payroll.

**The Job**
As an APS 5 HR Professional within the People Branch, you will:

- operate effectively in a fast-paced work environment delivering competing priorities,
- collaborate across the Branch to ensure that the department’s HR processes, practices and strategies are successfully delivered,
- build and sustain effective relationships both internally and with external stakeholders, including professional associations, service providers and Government agencies,
- undertake and manage moderately complex projects under the supervision of higher classification levels,
- manage and provide advice on more complex customer enquiries including in the context of non-routine circumstances,
- identify and provide feedback on efficiencies and opportunity to improve and/or streamline systems and processes.

**Please note** this recruitment process will be used to fill current vacancies across all areas of Human Resources and Payroll, as well as future vacancies that may arise over the next 18 months.

**Citizenship** - To be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.

**Security Clearance** - This position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
