
Administrative Officer

The incumbent performs administrative functions in relation to information processing, monitoring coronial information, medical typing, proof reading of Autopsy reports and general administration duties.
Assess the priority of telephone inquiries from potentially distressed relatives and friends of deceased persons to determine whether to provide appropriate information in a sensitive manner immediately and/or arrange subsequent follow up by a coronial counsellor
Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Current knowledge of medical terminology and well-developed keyboard and data entry skills
- Demonstrated experience in medical dictation and transcription
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to enable communication with Queensland Health Forensic and Scientific Services staff and clients as well as sensitive communication with distressed relatives
- Resilience for exposure to explicit information and material associated with completing coronial reports is necessary
- Ability to problem solve, prioritise tasks and work in a high volume environment both autonomously and as a team member.
Qualifications, registrations and other requirements
- While not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded.
