What is the role?

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Vacancy - Team Member, HR Advisory and Rostering, ACT Policing.

ACT Policing are seeking motivated and dynamic people to join the Human Resources Rostering and Advisory Team. Our team is responsible for providing Human Resources support and advice to all of ACT Policing and managing the staffing requirements to support Community Policing and Special Events across the ACT.

Below is an example of some of the daily tasks that you may be required to undertake in the role:
Providing advice on a range general and complex Human Resources issues including workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, and compliance with the AFP’s industrial framework.
Actively engaging with the Superintendents, Coordinators, Inspectors, Sergeants and Team Leaders to understand the complexities around ACT Policing rostering and staffing issues and using this information to identify and implement targeted HR initiatives.
Providing high level Human Resources advice to support the ACT Policing Executive decision making process including, but not limited to, governance, legislation and workforce metrics.
Mentoring and training new and developing members in the team.
Actively participating in special policing events including representing Human Resources in the Police Operations Centre.
Ensuring Sworn members qualifications are up-to-date and scheduling members onto training courses as required.

It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

Essential Requirements

A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Desirable Requirements

The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:
Previous experience in a Human Resources role
Tertiary Qualifications in Human Resources (or a related field)
