The AFP’s First Nations Unit is staffed by First Nations employees who utilise their unique knowledge and life experience to inform both culturally competent decision making at the AFP.
What is the role?
Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of team member Criminal Records.
This role provides high level support to the business area and delivers services to legally entitled entities, including AFP appointees, members of the public, other police services, Government and private clients and Government regulatory agencies. This role requires the ability to be able to prioritise workloads and swift but accurate data processing skills.
You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
What will you do?
This role contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of business area outcomes by undertaking a range of operational support and clerical administrative duties, including any or all of the following activities:
Create/update/maintain information in AFP Systems;
Respond to requests for information from legally entitled persons and/or agencies;
Maintain client relationships;
Undertake all duties related to the AFP’s National Police Checking Service;Training and guiding other staff in the performance of any of the above functions.
In performing the above activities you will use a number of systems including:
AFP Systems including the Criminal Records Enquiry and Disclosure Service (CREADS), the National Police Checking Service (NPCS) Applications Processing System (NAPS);
ACIC Systems including the NPCS Supports System (NSS), Nationwide Police Reference System (NPRS);
Integrated Court Management System (ICMS).
Essential Requirements
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Has or the demonstrated ability to learn, the contemporary knowledge relevant to the role.
Desirable Requirements
Experience in a high volume processing area
Additional Information
This position has been advertised in multiple locations however, the role is located in Canberra, ACT. Successful applicants must be willing to relocate to Canberra at their own cost.
