
Supply Chain Manager

Reporting to the Operations Director, the Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for providing vital support to the Operations Director in the development of supply chain and lead the implementation of a strategic vision for supply chain processes to improve operational effectiveness through superior tactical execution of supply chain, logistics and transportation initiatives.
Lead the daily execution of forward and reverse logistics in a multi-channel environment.
- Identify, engage, and manage partnerships with third party providers of logistics and transportation services to deliver value through cost-effective, focused tactical execution of supply chain activities.
- Act as liaison between internal stakeholders and logistics service providers to exceed service expectations.
- Champion transportation operational safety and ensure compliance with relevant federal and state regulations, and contractual obligations
- Manage import and export facets of the business and ensure compliance with customs and manage relationships with shipping line/freight forwarders.
- Manage the purchase of raw materials in order to maintain sufficient supplies needed for production.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and supplier and oversee procurement for the business unit.
- Establish and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), identify and implements relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor the logistics and transportation partner performance.
- Continuously evaluate supply chain process and logistics network to ensure alignment with business strategy and growth objectives and identify opportunities to optimise logistics / transportation costs.
- Understand and represent the supply chain requirements and capabilities for the immediate (0 - 6 months), near (6 - 18 months) and long-term (3 year) horizons.
- Manage the forward and reverse flow of goods and optimise levels of inventory along the supply chain and across all distribution channels (e.g., B2B, B2C) to ensure cost-effective performance and high service levels.
- Works cross-functionally with operations, IT, and finance teams to implement procurement strategies that meet company standards and manage SOPS
- Be responsible for managing all domestic logistics and transportation partner relationships including contract and rate negotiations.
- Manage the supply chain team and assist HR partner with recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Ensure daily collaboration between import and export coordinator and the planning department to align recommendations for container prioritisation.
- Ensure collaboration between planning and the inventory controller and the Warehouse Manager to achieve optimum levels of inventory across all sites.
- Collaborate with the Planning and B.I. Manager in planning and optimising the storage requirements for peak periods (inhouse and 3rd parties).
- Work together with the Planning and B.I. Manager to ensure a smooth operation at handover points between departments.
- Represent Australia on the Global Logistics forum with the rest of the Global team; share and recommend best practices from other nations that may improve our performance.
- Develop and closely manage annual logistics and transportation budget.
- Lead relevant business initiatives and projects agreed on annual working plans and perform other duties as assigned by the senior management.
Any other duties as required by the logistics function.
**Requirements**:
5+ years of experience in supply chain management with an emphasis on logistics and transportation network implementation and management and S&OP management; Consumer Packaged Goods/food & beverage experience preferred
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of transportation management, modeling, and optimisation, operating and financial accounting principles.
Knowledge of end-to-end logistics operations (including but not limited to ocean, Over-The-Road Transportation, Rail, Customs and Warehousing) preferred.
Strong organisational skills and proven business and managerial acumen with the ability to lead and develop people, manage strategic and tactical responsibilities across multiple projects and competing priorities
A commitment to continuous improvement in an ever-changing industry (must be flexible, creative and open to new ideas and ways of doing business).
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to influence & lead cross functionally and at all levels of the organization.
ERP Systems competency. Oracle experience a plus
