As our SEO Content Specialist, you’ll play a crucial part in increasing SEO traffic for multiple iconic News Corp brands. You’ll work across both regional and metro brands, maintaining a close relationship with journalists and digital editors to optimise our fast-breaking news articles and in-depth features, as well as play a key role in newsroom event content planning.

**What’s the role?**

SEO Responsibilities
- Working closely with editorial and product teams to: ensure articles and other content will appear in Google for relevant search terms.
- Collaborate with writers and editors to develop keyword-targeted content, copy editing and reviewing written content
- Conducting website audits - create technical recommendations including areas of improvement across digital assets.
- Analyse competitor websites within the organic search space and benchmark site performance providing feedback and improvement recommendations.
- Reporting on the effectiveness of SEO activities to stakeholders and providing insights for future campaigns
- Train journalists, producers and editors in basic SEO techniques
- Proactively engage with editorial teams to maintain coverage and volume of SEO training

Content Responsibilities
- Provide insights to the newsroom regarding daily trending search topics
- Producing ‘evergreen’ article ideas and content pieces to digital newsrooms
- Develop a content strategy (including a best practice approach to publishing page content) with practical recommendations for editorial teams.
- Collaborating with Search / Social / Marketing / Commercial teams to identify areas for search engine traffic growth to improve business KPI’s and digital subscriptions.
- Contribute to wider News Corp SEO strategy and deliverables

**Who are you?**
- Exceptional writing, spelling and grammar skills
- Able to work collaboratively with stakeholders of all levels
- Genuine interest and passion for ‘water-cooler’ topics and current affairs
- Stay on top of social media trends across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and beyond
- Able to identify a trending story and run with it
- Digital newsroom experience preferred
- Experience in SEO keyword research preferred
