**Job Description**:
**Pedestrian Group** is on the hunt for a **SEO Manager** to join our Audience Growth team. This position will take point on all things search across our seven award-winning websites: PEDESTRIAN.TV, VICE Australia, Refinery29 Australia, Lifehacker Australia, Gizmodo Australia, Kotaku Australia and The Chainsaw.
**The SEO Manager will be required to**:
- Work with our Heads of Editorial, Editors and Reporters to further entrench SEO best practices into their team’s everyday workflow.
- Build and oversee coverage plans for key Editorial events.
- Perform keyword research to identify new traffic opportunities for each of our sites.
- Identify existing content that can be updated to drive more traffic.
- Ensure published content snaps up a high rank, matches intent, and gets traffic.
- Stay on top of content decay by monitoring traffic and rankings.
- Build, manage and further enhance Editorial reporting products.
- Provide real-time optimisation recommendations to Editorial to maximise traffic in breaking news scenarios.
- Proactively find and recommend effective SEO solutions.
This is a full-time position, and will ideally be based out of Pedestrian Group’s offices in either Sydney or Melbourne but applicants from other states are welcome to apply
**Qualifications**:
**This position calls for someone with**:
- Experience in researching keywords and user search behaviour that leads to insights for content creation (experience in media/publishing a plus).
- A foundational understanding of technical SEO.
- Strong experience with website, SEO and analytics tools (e.g. Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Supermetrics).
- Basic experience with Content Management Systems such as WordPress
- Top-notch spreadsheet skills (Google Sheets, Excel).
- Bonus points for data visualisation skills (E.g. Google Data Studio, Power BI).
- Demonstrated copywriting and written communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in creating and executing SEO content strategies that increase organic traffic.
- Data analysis skills to consistently review content performance, traffic and rankings.
- Experience or exposure to Newsroom SEO/an understanding of Top Stories, News and Discover would be phenomenal but definitely not a hard requirement for this role.
