Due to our Chief of Claims promotion to Group Executive, Operations - we're looking for our next Head of Claims
As the visionary leader of our claims team, you'll be instrumental in shaping our operational vision to align with ClearView's future growth and transformation strategy. Your track record of leading high performing claims teams (3-5 direct reports) and your advocacy for change will be the driving force behind our success.
**A day in the life/key responsibilities**:
- Passionate advocate of change with proven track record of leading high performing claims teams
- Advanced experience and understanding of claims data development, collection, monitoring and use to drive data analytics, reporting, prioritisations and management insights
- Strong communication skills for internal and external stakeholders’ management
- Deliver market leading initiatives and creative solutions that lift capability within the claims team and positively impact performance to enable the achievement of organisational goals
- Review and improve control environment including monitoring effectiveness of delegations of authority, triage and related claims portfolio management practices
- Ensure all day-to-day people operational activities are completed effectively and efficiently and proactively manage issues that potentially detract value.
- Own, review, implement and advocate for ClearView’s claims philosophy.
- Ensure processes are in place to manage, monitor and report on the quality, timeliness and manner with which claims are managed to ensure alignment with ClearView’s claims philosophy.
- Proactively initiate the preparation of management reports providing commentary and analysis on claims including opportunities for improvement (e.g. Beddoes feedback)
- Ongoing review of policies and programs to ensure they remain effective
- Ensure all relevant legislation (e.g Claims as a Financial Service) is complied with taking corrective action if gaps or weaknesses are detected
**Secondary Responsibilities**:
- Work with other business areas to ensure management of claim related information and data is optimised
- Review expenses against budget and investigate and explain variances
- Represent ClearView externally at roadshows, industry events, forums, industry working groups etc
- Any other ad hoc claims related matter
**Key external relationships**:
- External specialists and regulatory bodies (ASIC, CALI, APRA)
- Reinsurance Partner
**Key Internal relationships**:
- Executive and Life Op’s leadership team
- Finance, Actuarial and Legal teams
- ClearView Internal teams

- Outstanding claims technical capabilities and proven track record of leading high performing teams
- Outstanding relationship management skills and ability to partner with the business
- Flexible and adaptable to adjust people strategy and direction when business needs change
- Strong knowledge and understanding of all aspects of claims management.
- Exemplary project and change management skills
- Persuasive facilitation, influencing and negotiating skills; able to act with diplomacy and tact
