**Recovery Support Specialist - Personal Injury | VIC**
**The role**
The primary purpose of this role is to support the claims team in becoming a leader in the recovery support of workers with complex injuries. The aims are to improve the quality of life for these workers and where possible to advance their levels of capacity to a point where they can be considered for vocational assistance and eventually retraining or return to work.
**You'll be responsible for**
- Leading in the development of specific recovery claims strategies through the case conferencing process.
- Supporting case managers with any work / developmental queries which will also include some technical queries and processes such as terminations, adverse decisions, senior reviews, and common law.
- Assisting in developing case management strategies tailored to the needs of individual workers, following the Allianz Case Management model and Injury Management Program in line with business requirements.
- Taking a leading role in promoting best practice injury management within the team, utilising evidence based medical guidelines and other tools to assist in developing case manager’s knowledge and capability.
- Participating in claims reviews when appropriate.
- Conducting call coaching on a monthly basis to ensure optimum customer service and develop case manager communication skills.
**About you**
- Insurance experience working within a Workers Compensation environment or similar with knowledge of Workers Compensation legislation, regulations, and orders.
- Experience in injury management relating to occupational rehabilitation, claims management and/or return to work.
- You are able to identify, analyse and assess risks inherent to the business and put in place appropriate controls / actions to manage the risks for future sustainability.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships internally and externally with clients, intermediaries, and service providers.
- Ability to make independent as well as collaborative decisions during expected or unexpected situations and then taking responsibility for the consequences of decisions taken.
