About the role

AGL’s Business & Commercial Customers (B&CC) business unit comprises an integrated electricity and gas retailing, and Sustainable Business Energy Solutions business that is the market leader in commercial solar and other sustainable energy solutions.

The Product, Strategy & New Technology team B&CC defines and executes growth strategies and product innovation for business customers and is focused on our mission to be the ‘Net Zero partner of choice’ for Australian businesses.

The team is looking for a Product Specialist who will work cross functionally to develop enhanced and new product propositions for energy retail customers, with a core focus on helping our customers decarbonise. You will also support development of energy solutions that integrate core energy propositions with new technology-enabled solutions, with a focus on orchestration, electrification, energy management and other emerging technologies.

The Product Specialist will be responsible for providing delivery and operational leadership for the testing and introduction of new or enhanced product propositions within the B&CC Product Team.

What you'll be doing:
- Support Product Managers to engage with customers to identify problems to solve and to test new product propositions..- Identify and document customer and business requirements to support the development of new or enhanced product propositions, including mapping customer journeys and business processes.- Collaborate with Product Managers and other stakeholders to identify, evaluate and recommend Minimum Viable Product (MVP) approaches that enable the incubation and delivery of new product propositions.- Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver tasks required to deliver new product propositions.- Maintain system and operational processes to onboard and manage customers through the lifecycle of new products delivered.- Identify and lead the implementation of continuous improvement opportunities in the delivery and operational management of new products, including identification and resolution of operational risks and issues.- Actively promote strong relationships with key stakeholders supporting the product delivery and operations function, including Wholesale Pricing, B&CC Sales Operations, B&CC Customer Experience and Service, Business Energy Solutions and IT.

What you'll bring to the role:
- Experience in supporting or leading the implementation of new products, product features and/or product improvements.- Demonstrated experience in identifying and prioritizing customer and business requirements to inform the development of new product propositions.- Experience in mapping customer journeys and business processes for new product propositions.- Data analytical skills, including the ability to manipulate and analyse data to provide insights and business recommendations. Intermediate MS-Excel skills (essential), and basic SQL data analysis skills (desirable, not essential).- Strong interpersonal skills to establish and engage good working relationships with stakeholders across diverse teams.- Ability and willingness to solve complex customer and business problems.- Good communication skills that translate to well-articulated requirements both written and verbal.- 2+ years’ experience in similar roles.- Experience in the energy industry, agile ways of working and/or SAP CRM and ISU (desirable)- Delivery focused with customer in forefront of mind.- Degree in Business, Information Systems, Marketing or similar disciplines.
