Active Aluminium Windows and Doors specialises in the fabrication and installation of high-quality aluminium windows, bi-fold doors, hinge doors, and manual & auto sliding doors in Melbourne, Victoria. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced **Metal Fabricator** to join our expanding team.

**Role**

This role involves working on a wide range of fabrication projects, from reading and interpreting blueprints to cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components. You will use a variety of tools and welding techniques to produce precise and durable products while maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship.

**Responsibilities**
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Measure and mark out the size, shape, and location of cutouts and joints on metal stock.
- Cut, bend, and assemble metal components using fabrication tools and machines (e.g., shears, brakes, grinders, welding equipment).
- Join metal sections by welding (MIG/TIG/Stick), bolting, or riveting.
- Examine welds for accuracy, penetration, and finish, performing necessary repairs or reworks.
- Clean and smooth welds using filing, chiselling, and grinding techniques.
- Program and/or operate computer-aided fabrication tools to optimise efficiency.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality compliance.
- Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment in line with WHS practices.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure projects are completed on time.

**Skills & Experience Required**
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Metal Fabricator.
- Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes and tools.
- Proficiency in MIG/TIG/Stick welding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

**Requirements**:

- Relevant trade qualifications (preferred).
- Own tools (advantageous).
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
- White Card.
- Full working rights in Australia.

**Pay**

$80,000 p.a. + Super

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
