**Who are we looking for?**

We are seeking a Student Engagement Officer to join Student Engagement and Sport, Administrative Division.

The Student Engagement Officer will provide assistance across student engagement programs including financial, and operational management of the Student Clubs and Projects (SCAP) Grants program, organising events and providing administrative and logístical support for student engagement initiatives. The incumbent will work closely with other members of the Service Improvement and Student Engagement team liaising with students, staff, faculties and community organisations to deliver a range of student engagement initiatives.

**About the area**

Student Engagement and Sport has a student centric approach to the holistic and transformative development of QUT students. We foster authentic, vibrant and inclusive communities by empowering student curiosity, creativity and citizenship. As part of a broader student success and retention strategy at QUT, the Student Engagement and Sport (SES) team is responsible for delivering co-curricular programs that further build QUT’s sense of community and support students to develop their professional profiles, networks and employability. SES programs and activities are designed to build a culture of connectedness, a more vibrant campus and personal and professional capabilities. They provide leadership and development opportunities for students alongside the formal curriculum, to deepen student engagement, and enhance the overall QUT student experience.

**What you need to succeed**

1. Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to a degree in a relevant area.

2. Demonstrated experience in managing the financial management and accountability of small organisations or projects.

3. Demonstrated experience in project and event management with the ability to complete tasks within established timeframes and budgets with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, preferably in a student environment.

4. Well-developed interpersonal and facilitation skills with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups among staff, students and external stakeholders.

5. Well-developed planning and organising skills with demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work activities to meet competing deadlines and to achieve positive work outcomes in a client focussed environment.

6. Well-developed written communication skills with demonstrated ability to write materials for target audiences within designated timeframes.
