About the teamOur Family Law Services division gives legal help and support to children and adults experiencing family law issues including child protection, child support and maintenance, parenting issues, domestic and family violence, and divorce and property settlement. Where possible, we encourage people to resolve their problems without going to court by using our dispute resolution services. From helping children have a voice in the legal system through our separate representatives and independent children's lawyers, to representing people with complex disputes before the family law courts, this division plays an integral role in helping Queenslanders resolve their family law problems.
About the roleIn this position, you will support the Director, Family Law and Civil Justice Services to meet their responsibilities across a broad range of family law and associated areas and will provide the successful applicant with a range of administrative opportunities across many areas of law.
This role is ideally suited to a senior legal administrator with significant experience in practice management.
What you will do
- Support the Director and the Assistant Director - Practice Management (Family & Civil) with administrative activities associated with their role
- Be the first point of contact and respond to enquiries regarding Family Law and Civil Justice Services across the State
- Develop and facilitate training
- Oversee litigation support officers within family law services and provide guidance and coaching to litigation support officers across the state
- Manage, coordinate and distribute domestic and family violence duty lawyer rosters as required and assist in managing and maintaining the Independent Children's Lawyer and Separate Representative specialist panels
- Resolve day to day operational issues regarding procedures and staff within Family Law Services
What are we looking for...
A skilled senior practice administrator who
- Has significant experience managing a busy legal practice
- Has experience in supervising and leading administrative staff
- Has developed and delivered training
- Has sound knowledge of the legal systems and process across various jurisdictions relative to family law
