**About the role**:
The role of the Head of Public & Corporate Affairs is principally responsible for providing corporate affairs support, expertise and advice and lead and manage the development of external communications, the Fund’s internal communication strategy, plans and delivery and generally provide an internal corporate affairs consultancy with a focus on risk control.

As the Head of Public & Corporate Affairs you will also assist the Executive Manager, Public & Corporate Affairs in protecting Hostplus’ reputation, brand and standing, both within the superannuation sector and the public more generally. This includes preemptively and proactively assessing and responding to current affairs, formal and social media sentiment and reporting, and other forums and channels where the Fund’s status, reputation and repute is shaped and influenced. Importantly, this includes quickly understanding and assessing negative impacts to the business & working with senior management and relevant service providers to develop timely and effective action plans to address and mitigate such risks.

**About you**:

- You will have a strong knowledge of the Australian retirement income policy environment and the superannuation sector in particular, with a demonstrated and applied working understanding of the structures, philosophy and ethos and industry superannuation funds
- Applied experience with superannuation processes, procedures, legal & compliance requirements
- A high level of risk and compliance awareness, especially as applied to superannuation funds’ marketing and related strategies and activities
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles & financial literacy fundamentals
- Sound demonstrated commercial judgement and acumen, including superior relationship & organising skills
- Ability to work closely & proactively with key stakeholders across a range of business levels
- Ability to uphold integrity with confidential and sensitive market information
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while maintaining a sense of perspective and discipline
- Proven and applied knowledge and use of fundamental project management practices, methods and systems to achieve timely and cost effective outcomes and deliverables.
- Work productively & efficiently both personally and with others to achieve objectives
- Ability to positively influence, lead and manage other
- Communicate with impact in addition to producing quality communications & reports
- A penchant for problem solving, consensus-building & getting things done effectively and efficiently
