As Principal Policy Advisor, you will contribute to complex policy research and analysis and development, with a focus on supporting Cabinet and/or intergovernmental processes by:

- Providing professional, authoritative and timely strategic advice to senior management on housing and homelessness policy issues of a complex nature.
- Collaborating with other jurisdictions, Queensland agencies and across the department to deliver on the Government's national and State policy commitments and reform agendas where housing is a party.
- Leading policy research, analysis and coordination and providing advice on policy issues relevant to national and state reforms.
- Leading the Cabinet briefing process across Housing and Homelessness Services.
- Influencing the development and coordination of national housing and homelessness policy design and direction, including the negotiation of national agreements.
- Supporting negotiation and consultation with a range of key stakeholders, including the Australian Government, other government agencies, and senior departmental staff to address housing and homelessness policy issues, including as they pertain to people with disability.
- Managing the formulation and preparation of proposals, recommendations, submissions and briefing papers of a complex nature.
- Demonstrating visible policy leadership, direction and focus.
- Supporting and helping maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day-to-day operations.
