Activities Assistant

South West Community Care are a leading Aged Care Provider who deliver Social Support in group sessions in both our Australind and Harvey Activities Centres.

Working under the direction of the Activities Team Leader and supervision of the Activities Organisers, the Activities Assistant is expected to provide community-based consumer centred services to SWCC consumers in therapeutic activities, and provide feedback on the consumers' progress to enable appropriate goal setting and program review.

**Responsibilities**
- To provide quality care to consumers in collaboration with and under the direction of the Activities Team Leader and supervision of the Activities Organisers
- Works directly with the Activities Organisers in teams under supervision following a prescribed program of activity
- Accurately document consumer progress and maintain documentation as required
- Review of consumers files prior to visits/sessions as required
- Completion of visual resources and other materials required for Group sessions
- Use person centred and respectful communication skills to assist in meeting the needs of consumers
- Maintains confidentiality, privacy and dignity of consumers and demonstrates empathy and sensitivity towards consumers and relatives
- Manage time and resources effectively
- Attend and participates in relevant education programs
- Undertakes other duties as directed
- Understands and follows reporting guidelines
- Assist Consumers to maximise their ability to participate in activities
- Assists with Transportation of consumers from home to Centre or those attending outings on the coaster bus

**Essential Criteria**
- Current ‘C’ Class drivers licence
- Current National Police Clearance, no older than six months
- Willing to undertake a pre-employment medical examination
- Reliable roadworthy vehicle, with current insurance and registration
- Owns a smart phone with a sufficient plan to support it and sufficient data

**Desirable Criteria**
- Currrent Influenza vaccination
- Current Covid-19 vaccination
- Current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid Statement of Attainment
