**About the position**:
South West Community Care are seeking a Community Bus Driver to be employed on a casual basis. The role may also support the Activities team during Outings when required.

Working under the direction of the Workforce Coordinator, the Community Bus Driver role will provide safe transportation of our consumers to local services (such as shopping centres, banks and post office), local activities and events, and return them at the end of their outing. You will also perform other ad-hoc duties as required, such as providing individual social support, assisting with the centre activities and outings, cleaning of vehicles and assisting with fleet bookings for repairs and maintenance.

**Responsibilities**:

- To provide safe bus driving services to consumers in collaboration with and under the direction and supervision of the Workforce Coordinator
- Assist consumers to enter and exit the bus and provide assistance with access and egress from the bus, as required
- Coordinate pick-up and delivery of clients, following Client Management System software to plan an efficient route
- Report service requirements and completes regular electronic vehicle maintenance checklists for the Asset Coordinator
- Ensure the buses are fully equipped with required equipment and consumables
- Monitor the condition of the SWCC activities buses and provide cleaning of vehicles, when required
- Provide feedback to the Workforce Coordinator and/or Care Team regarding outcome of interventions - reports concerns and relays the progress of allocated consumers
- Communicate with consumers, relatives, colleagues and community contracts in a professional manner that shows respect for individuals
- Use person-centred and respectful communication skills to assist in meeting the needs of consumers
- Maintains confidentiality, privacy and dignity of consumers and demonstrates empathy and sensitivity towards consumers and relatives
- Manage time and resources effectively
- Undertakes other duties as required
- Understands and follows reporting guidelines

**Essential Criteria**
- Current relevant Class drivers licence
- Passenger Transport Driver authorisation
- Current HLTAID011 Provide first aid Statement of Attainment
- Current National Police Clearance, no older than six months
- Willing to undertake a pre-employment medical examination
- Previous bus driver experience
- Own a Smart Phone with a sufficient plan to support it and sufficient data
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities as delegated by Workforce Coordinator
- Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation and principles

**Desirable Criteria**
- Experience working for a community based organisation is preferred
- Certificate III in Individual Support - Ageing or equivalent
- HLTHPS006 Assist Consumers with Medication
- Hold a Heavy or Medium Rigid Licence
- Current Influenza vaccination
- Current COVID-19 vaccination
- Dementia competency or experience
