Reporting to the Manager Property & Assets, the Head of Property Operations & Facilities is a member of the Operations and Infrastructure (OI) Senior Leadership Team. The primary purpose of OI is to guide and enable the organisation to deliver better value to our growing community.
The City has an extensive and varied property portfolio worth over $2.1 billion that supports delivery of a diverse range of services. The Property Operations and Facilities team supports the property portfolio through the operational management of the property portfolio to support the safe integration of people, place and process.
You will ensure the organisation delivers full value to internal and external stakeholders by taking a proactive account management approach and actively developing and managing key partnerships. You will oversee the annual program of leasing and licensing, the proactive management of 200+ tenancies to ensure contract compliance, asset utilisation, financial sustainability and risk mitigation. Your role will also oversee the management of Council owned community facilities and town halls including effective bookings management, allocation of space and customer service. This role will also drive the delivery of innovative and quality focused facilities management functions across council managed sites to ensure that the appropriate systems, processes and procedures are being followed to ensure efficient, safe and cost-effective facilities and that repairs, renewals and upgrades across the portfolio are being coordinated.
You will be an experienced contemporary people leader, with demonstrated experience developing and executing strategies across property and venue operation and facilities assurance with a preference for experience in a public sector organisation. You will have proven experience influencing and negotiating with key internal and external stakeholders with differing needs and expectations, combined with strong commercial acumen and customer services skills. You will be considered a collaborative and action orientated leader, who can inspire and engage their teams to deliver on business objectives. Proven knowledge and experience in Facilities Management would be desirable.
