**Reference Number** - 12632**Position Title** - Gardener/Maintenance Officer**Employment Type** - Permanent Full Time**Organisation** - SOP Blue Star Support Team**Location** - Head Office (St Kilda Road)**Enterprise Agreement Classification** - JCV SCHDHP&S Agreement - Home Care - Level 2, PP1**Hours** - 38**Position Summary** **About the Company** - Jewish Care Victoria, a not-for-profit organisation, is the largest provider of aged and community services for the Jewish Community in Victoria.- Jewish Care employs staff from all cultural and religious backgrounds and provides training in the Jewish Ethos.**About the Role** - We are looking for** 2x Gardeners & 2x Maintenance Officers **to ensure our gardens and buildings are maintained for safe and reliable work practices for staff and provide a comfortable living environment for residents.**Responsibilities Include** - Turf maintenance - Pruning, tree care, and tree maintenance - Weed control - Planting and plant care - Operation and maintenance of gardening equipment - Attending to all garden maintenance requests in a timely manner according to an agreed preventative schedule - Maintain car parks and other hard standing areas so they remain free from debris, overgrown vegetation, and weeds - Other appropriate planned or ad hoc gardening duties as directed by the Property Manager - Advise the Property Manager of required works to maintain properties to a high standard of upkeep - Undertake plaster repair and make good - Carry out minor repairs and maintenance to Jewish Care Victoria properties, in all areas including the car park, kitchen, laundry, residents rooms, activity and administration areas in accordance with OHS guidelines and relevant statutory and compliance requirements i.e. Australian Standards and/or Code or Practice. - Work with the administrative team in the generation or work orders as required to maintain JCV properties to an agreed standard - Prioritise all work orders through the maintenance request system and complete within specified time frame in order to meet expected service delivery times and customer expectations. - Carry out on-going condition assessments throughout Jewish Care Victoria properties, reporting any damage or faults and recording maintenance and repairs as necessary. - Purchase of supplies and materials within financial delegation and ensure that all tax receipts and invoices are provided and submitted promptly for reconciliation. - Assist with room set-ups and set downs, office relocations and movement of furniture as and when required. - Assisting with emergency procedures as required - Monitor contractor's performance and report outcomes to Property Manager/Procurement Manager when directed. - Ensure plant and equipment is used in a safe manner, is serviced, tested and tagged and is used in accordance with the manufacturers intended use. - Be pro-active in caring for the health and safety of all people within our work environment - What we are looking for- **Trade background qualifications with a preference in Painting and Gardening/Grounds Maintenance**: - **Trade qualification and/or relevant working experience.**: - Current drivers licence - Knowledge and understanding of OHS/Manual Handling/Safe Work Practices - Forklift/ EWP or "D" class Electrical licence desirable but not essential - Why Jewish Care is the best choice for your career: - Salary Packaging - as a not-for-profit organisation, our staff benefit from some Fringe Benefit Tax exemptions through salary packaging up to $15,900 p.a + up to $2,650 p.a on meal & entertainment. - Ethos Day - a culturally enriching learning experience that helps understanding the history, culture, ethos and mission of Jewish Care - Employee Assistance Program - Reward & Recognition Program - Employee Referral Program - Learning and development - opportunities to progress in your career internally. - If this sounds like an opportunity in the next step of your career, and you want to work for an organisation that supports you to succeed both personally and professionally, click APPLY and commence your journey with Jewish Care Victoria.**_ Jewish Care is committed to protecting clients and staff members from all forms of harm and abuse.
