Platform Manager

**Platform Manager (LHD)**:

- Location: Potts Point, NSW, AU, 2011- Onsite or Hybrid: Hybrid- Located at Garden Island Potts Point, with some working from home options

**About the role**

In this technical maritime role, you will have the unique opportunity to support the maintenance of the Royal Australian Navy LHD vessels (Landing Helicopter Dock). These vessels are the prime assets of the Navy and your involvement will be key in ensuring the materiel state to meet operational objectives. You will lead the ship delivery for a designated platform, facilitate the work package compilation, manage urgent defects, approve task additions, manage process and performance and engage relevant stakeholders to ensure the successful planning and execution of availabilities.

You will be accountable to the Program Managers for the quality and effectiveness of the project management services being provided by the Integrated Project Team (IPT). Acting as the single point of contact for your allocated platform, you will provide planning and oversight throughout the lifecycle, ensuring that External Maintenance Period (EMP) objectives can be achieved through sufficient support within the constraints and resources available.

This role is based in Garden Island (Potts Point, NSW) with some flexibility to work from home.

**About you**

You will have a significant trade/ engineering or project management background within a technical maritime focused role. You will be able to show proven ability to make robust judgements and have the ability to motivate and mentor in situations to meet customer expectations and maintenance deadlines. Your communication and negotiation skills will allow you to effective manage conflict and problem solve consistently.
- To be successful, ideally you will have:_
- Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a current Defence security clearance
- Prior experience in the maritime industry
- Minimum of a trade, engineering or project management qualification
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of maritime maintenance

This position will work within our subsidiary Naval Ship Management (NSM), which provides asset management solutions to the Australian maritime sector. Working closely with supply chain partners, NSM provides cost-effective and responsive solutions that optimise the availability, capability, and seaworthiness of critical maritime assets. NSM supports assets across the Royal Australian Navy’s fleet - most notably the Anzac Class Frigates as a member of the Warship Asset Management Agreement (WAMA) and the Canberra Class Landing Helicopter Docks (LHD), LHD Landing Craft (LLC) and associated assets as the Asset Class Prime Contractor.
