About the RoleThe Deafness and Mental Health Statewide Consultation Service is the only service of its kind in Australia and strives to promote appropriate and accessible mental health care for Deaf and hard of hearing people throughout Queensland. The mission of the service is to assist people who are Deaf or hard of hearing to access culturally affirmative and inclusive mental health care and treatment.
The purpose of this position is to provide operational management, clinical practice supervision, and strategic leadership for a team of Statewide deafness and mental health professionals.
- Lead and manage the delivery of the Deafness and Mental Health Statewide Consultation Liaison Service Team ensuring that outcomes are monitored and evaluated and that the service is delivered based on contemporary recovery principles. Contribute to the advancement of quality Deafness and Mental health services and contribute to optimal patient care through provision of clinical service, clinical leadership for service development, quality improvement, clinical education, and research activities for the progression and development of deaf friendly services resources and assessments. Lead and facilitate therapies and support the planning, coordination, formulation and delivery of evidence-based education and research ensuring sustainable workforce education models are delivered in line with the Therapy Capability Framework within services (including services of a complex nature). Provide Metro South Health (MSH) wide professional and operational advice on clinical areas and service delivery models.
