**Your New Role**

The Riawunna Centre is focused on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student success and offers a culturally welcoming space for students to study, access academic and cultural support and to be part of a dynamic learning community.

As part of a senior leadership team, you will play a key strategic role in the delivery of a whole of university strategy and development of initiatives to increase and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student participation and completion. Leading and managing Riawunna programs, you will guide a dynamic team with professionalism and a strength-based philosophy. Collaborating across the university you will identify and create pathways and initiatives that target key transition points across the student lifecycle to ensure access, participation and success for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Working towards the realisation of the Strategic Plan for Aboriginal Engagement in building and developing Indigenous presence at the university you will work with Colleges and Divisions to set targets and strategies to attract and retain students in their undergraduate programs. To ensure high performance and accountability of Riawunna, you will develop and implement operational planning for continuous improvement and provide an exceptional standard of people and wellbeing management.

**What You’ll Need to Succeed**

With demonstrated leadership experience in Indigenous education and knowledge of contemporary Aboriginal Tasmania, you will bring to the role the ability to support shared service, think strategically and innovatively to develop clear priorities, demonstrate sound professional judgement and exceptional communication skills. Having completed an undergraduate degree with managerial experience or a postgraduate degree with proven leadership capacity you will have the ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships across the University and with external stakeholders and be able to demonstrate drive and integrity through a strong commitment to action and taking responsibility for modelling the professional behaviours important to the University.
