**Division Head - Police Officer Support Scheme**

**Location: Sydney**

**Employment Status: Full time - Up to 5 years with eligibility for re-appointment**

**The Personal Injury Commission** (Commission) resolves disputes between people injured in motor accidents and workplaces in NSW, insurers and employers. The Commission is an independent statutory tribunal within the New South Wales justice system, committed to providing a transparent and independent dispute resolution service. The Commission exercises functions in three divisions - the Motor Accidents Division, the Workers Compensation Division and the newly created Police Officer Support Scheme Division.

Applications are sought from suitably qualified and experienced persons for appointment to the position of Division Head (Police Officer Support Scheme Division) (full-time) for dual appointment to the Police Officer Support Scheme Division and Workers Compensation Division. The Division Head is also a Principal Member and Senior Executive member of the Commission. Sydney based.

The Division Head is responsible for the direction of business in the Police Officer Support Scheme Division of the Commission. The position has an attractive salary. The Division Head is one of five members of the Commission’s Executive Leadership Team and reports to the President, a District Court Judge. The appointment may be made for a term of up to 5 years, with eligibility for reappointment.

Applicants for the appointment as Division Head will be qualified legal practitioners of at least 7 years’ standing or, in the opinion of the Minister, possess special knowledge, skill or expertise. Applicants will have sound knowledge of workers compensation law and practice, demonstrated strategic leadership, and alternative dispute resolution and facilitation skills and experience.
