**Position Duties**:

- Provision of clinical services to patients designated as under your direct care, to outpatients and to patients you are asked to consult in orthopedic surgery;
- Provision of adult lower limb construction;
- Provision of hip and knee as well as foot and ankle surgical services
- Adult lower limb reconstruction which includes hip and knee surgery along with foot and ankle surgery and general orthopaedic trauma
- Provision of two half day elective operating session per month primarily to public patients, noting that the number of allocated sessions available may vary over time depending upon resources available, strategic priorities and clinical demand;
- Ensure the numbers of elective waiting list patients do not exceed the National and State waiting time benchmarks or exceed the capacity of the contractually agreed theatre time availability to undertake the wait list cases, in accordance with NSW Health Policy;
- Participate in teaching and research duties;
- Promotion of good patient care and the good reputation of the department and the hospital;
- Participate in the Orthopedic Surgery on-call roster.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia
- Possess, or be eligible to possess, specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia and obtain a provider number from Medicare to practice at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney;
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) with specialty training in Orthopaedics (Fellowship in Hip and Knee Surgery, or equivalent);
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills and high standards of clinical practice in Orthopaedic Surgery, hip and knee surgery commensurate to experience which is appropriate to the requirements of the position;
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching at specialty registrar, junior medical officer and undergraduate levels;
- Demonstrated leadership skills that support and foster innovation to create a learning culture, with proven ability to improve the quality of services and patient care outcomes;
- Demonstrated ability to provide high quality compassionate medical care as evidenced by recent practice experience in working congenially and collaboratively as both a leader and member of a multidisciplinary team, and as a provider of services that engender high levels of patient satisfaction and experience;
- Demonstrated ongoing contribution to the development, dissemination, and translation of new knowledge and practices commensurate with work in an academic teaching hospital environment;
- Preferably Masters or equivalent in Hip and Knee Surgery
