**Your Role**
This is an Actuary role where as part of the Australian Actuarial team in the CFO division, you will provide advice on the performance of the business to Executive and Senior Business leaders. The role supports the office of the Chief Actuary and CFO Australia in modelling and advising on the valuation of insurance liabilities.
You will drive change by re-defining processes to add value and seeking new opportunities to utilise technical skill sets and models. The role requires strong communication, including the ability to discuss technical concepts simply and influence key decision makers.
**ABOUT YOU -**
Advise & Build Relationships
You’ll be a proactive member of Analytical and Actuarial communities; writing papers, attending workshops / conferences or leveraging other opportunities.
You’ll liaise with a network of internal stakeholders to add value to the business.
You will provide pragmatic advice, with appropriate backing of technical knowledge & results, to influence business decisions.
Technical Analysis & Development
You will ensure the team’s processes and projects are efficient and technically sound.
You will ensure analytical methodologies and data processes are in line with best practice, recommending and implementing changes as required.
You’ll take a guiding role in the ongoing development of the team’s core technical capabilities.
Governance, Monitor & Report
You’ll develop and adhere to governance process standards.
You will be vigilant in the scrutiny of data quality by performing appropriate levels of data reconciliation on key assumptions and results.
You will advise on and design value adding internal / external reports.
You will develop and maintain key process / methodology documents and other learning materials.
You have tertiary qualifications in an appropriate Technical discipline e.g. Actuarial, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Finance, Engineering.
You have prior practical experience (minimum 5 years) in the analysis of complex data, with a preference to past experience in General Insurance Actuarial roles.
You’ll have practical experience with analytical software such as SAS, Excel, SQL, R or Python.
