The opportunity
This is an exceptional opportunity for an early-career Actuarial professional to join one of Australia’s leading insurers in the role of Junior Actuarial Analyst working across short
- and long-tail products within the NZ and Pacific portfolios. Join the dynamic Actuarial team at NZPAC, where you'll gain broad exposure to the full reserving process and develop a strong understanding of the frameworks that underpin actuarial reporting and regulatory obligations.
Your new role- Support the Senior Actuarial Manager to perform end-to-end reserving work for various products- Perform monthly BAU tasks and other actuarial analysis as required- Be the ‘go-to person’ for data analysis and support to senior Actuarial professionals, enabling the team to provide meaningful insights to the business- Continuously seek process improvement and be part of the QBE Actuarial modernisation journey About you- You have obtained a tertiary qualification in actuarial studies, mathematics, statistics or equivalent relevant disciplines.- A keen interest in expanding on your Actuarial knowledge and looking to take the next step in your career with a leading global insurer known for providing career development and progression opportunities.- You have exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills and an ability to generate outside of the box creative solutions rather than following precedence.- You will also have strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and can utilise these to liaise with stakeholders at varying levels across the business to influence best practice outcomes.- While not essential, familiarity with SQL, VBA and Python would be advantageous
