Create impact as an Analyst, Actuarial
Your Role
As an Actuarial Analyst in the Intermediated Insurance Australia (IIA) Reserving Actuarial team, you will be responsible for data manipulation and modelling to generate and support the recommendation of actuarial liabilities of the Workers Compensation portfolio. You will also deliver business advisory insights across claims experience, performance trends, underlying risks and issues.
You'll get excellent exposure to stakeholders, through providing analytical insights that help drive business decisions, and assisting senior team members with advice backed by strong technical understanding. You'll develop key technical skills across reserving, capital and adjacent expertise areas (e.g. understanding and building actuarial models, and coding skills in SAS or R)
You'll play an active role in delivering processes and projects efficiently, recommending improvements where appropriate, and producing clear, insightful reports and dashboards using tools like R Markdown.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity, based in either Gadigal Country (Sydney) or Naarm (Melbourne)

About You
- Actuarial Degree or Tertiary qualifications in an analytical field
- 0-2 years experience in actuarial or relevant role
- Coding experience in R and/or SAS ideal but not essential. Proficiency in excel is also preferred.
