Your business

Financial Performance Management (FPM) is a part of Enterprise Finance and is responsible for supporting the Group & Divisional CFOs and the business to make optimal resource allocation decisions. To do this, FPM undertakes a range of performance management activities including planning, forecasting, reporting and analysis, which provide actionable insight and advice to its stakeholders. As a function, FPM drives continual process improvement by leveraging its scale and ‘one way of doing things’ across its Group and divisionally-aligned teams, including the Cost Centre of Excellence (‘Cost COE’).

Your team’s role

The Institutional FPM team drives value creation by providing actionable insights & advice that enable sustainable growth for our businesses, underpinned by improved scale and one way of doing things to lower risk and enhance financial integrity. We make our financial information widely accessible and focused on supporting the Institutional transformation.

Your reporting lines and stakeholders

You will report directly to the Performance Management Lead and form part of the wider Institutional FPM team of ~8 people. To succeed in your role, you will need to develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across Finance function (including FPM & BPs), the Institutional Divisional Insights team as well as working with stakeholders in Risk & Treasury.

What will your day look like

As a Performance Management Specialist, you will help form a well-rounded finance professional engaged in planning and target setting activities; financial performance analysis and reporting; decision support (including formulating solutions to complex business problems); and continuous process improvement.

As a Performance Management Specialist (Institutional FPM), you will primarily be Divisionally aligned; and be responsible for ownership of tasks related to Institutional balance sheet management activities as well as Institutional profitability analysis.

In your role, you will support the Divisional CFO and the Institutional Business Partners to deliver insights that generate actionable business outcomes to help the Institutional business meet its aspirations whilst working closely with Group FPM as one overall team.

As part of your continuous improvement mandate, you will own Institutional Finance models, help manage Finance’s approach to reporting and performance management and gain insight into capital management within Institutional. This will involve the ongoing automation and simplification of standard reporting while enhancing insight in areas of particular interest.

**Your key priorities and responsibilities include**:

- Reporting & monitoring of Institutional balance sheet movements and generation of business insights to drive capital allocation and/or funding efficiencies
- Updating of the Institutional Financial Outlook (Revenue, Balance Sheet & RWA) on a monthly basis
- Contribute to the process improvement & automation of finance reporting processes
- Ad-hoc profitability analysis into areas of interest

What will you bring?

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

- Stakeholder management relationship building skills
- Proficient in Excel (advanced is desirable but not essential) in structuring, analysing and manipulating data
- Experience in the setting of business targets, including balance sheet performance (capital and funding), revenue and cost is desirable
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate initiatives, projects, ideas or progress to senior stakeholders and influencing effective critical financial decisions based on financial models, scenario analysis and experience
- Knowledge of analytics, MIS, BI finance systems and how to use them to communicate effectively at senior management levels
