**Position description**

Reporting to the Traffic Manager, you will be responsible for all facet of Costco AU/NZ's import/export/domestic supply chain and daily management and development of the team and department. You will be pivotal in managing relationships and communication with key stakeholders, such as Home Office, Warehouses, Global Offices, Depot, Suppliers, Service Providers, and Government entities.

**Job Duties/Essential Functions**
- Oversee, lead, coach and mentor the team
- Oversee the movement of import and export cargo end to end from origin to point of destination
- Troubleshoot and facilitate smooth flow of import and export goods
- Provide visibility of goods in transit to internal stakeholders
- Assists in the preparation of RFI's/EOI documentation for international freight, import brokerage and domestic transport and is involved in their assessment and evaluation
- Assist in the negotiation of international freight, import brokerage and domestic transport contracts
- Oversee freight request and analysis
- Assists in the ongoing management of contracts and service provider KPI's, reporting and issue resolution
- Management and co-ordination of domestic transport activities including contract negotiation, KPI reporting, issue
resolution
- Oversee cargo insurance claims
- Observing employee performance and reviewing paperwork and computer entries to ensure that department
procedures are followed and standards met
- Attend meetings with manager and service providers
- Attend industry and government seminars where necessary and approved by the manager
- Perform industry research to maintain current knowledge of import and export supply chain
- Participate in team's performance reviews
- Provides ongoing support and training to internal stakeholders on matters relating to international supply chain
- Liaise closely with freight forwarders, shipping lines, Custom Broker, DAWE/MPI/Biosecurity, Customs and other
regulatory agencies to resolve any import issues
- Assisting in other areas of the department as necessary

**Required qualifications / industry specific skills**

Education/Training:

- Bachelor Degree in disciplines of Commerce, Marketing (Channels), Supply Chain, Accounting/Finance, Communications or International Business.

Knowledge/Skills:

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills is a must
- Strong attention to detail, responsible, logical, proactive, studious, hands on, willing to learn and able to prioritise
- Approachable with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong in maths and Microsoft suite
- Ability to multi-task with excellent organizational, planning and time management skills
- Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides)

**Other Specific requirements**
- Satisfactory criminal record check
- If successful, you will be required to undertake role and department specific training within specified timeframes
