**The Role**
The APS 5 HR officer will be accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve complex human resource work within an integrated workforce. You will need to have a well-developed understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.

You will interpret and provide advice within the HR Services area based on legislation, policy and procedures and will undertake specialist research and analysis, conduct reviews, assessment, investigations and perform administrative support work to achieve results.

The APS 5 HR Officer will coordinate and contribute to the work of a team consistent to a work plan and provide advice and assistance on methods of task completion to team members. You will team coach or supervise a team and be accountable to set work priorities, allocate work, and manage workflows and performance. You are expected to review and develop the quality of work undertaken by others and identify opportunities for on-the-job training within a work unit.

**About our Team**
The Directorate of Privacy, Complaints and Resolution manages a range of people functions including administrative review, complaints management, privacy management and dispute resolution. The Complaints team works closely across the Directorate and the wider HR Services Branch to empower Defence personnel with sustainable tools and resources to effectively manage disputes and resolve issues at the lowest appropriate level.

The Directorate is embarking on an exciting reform journey and this position will play a key role in designing and delivering products and services to enhance complaints handling, conflict resolution and HR capabilities across Defence.
