Southport Sharks is recruiting for a Duty Manager to join the team. **This opportunity will consist of full-time night shifts.**

The Duty Manager is often responsible for managing staff schedules, handling customer inquiries and complaints, monitor security protocols and emergency procedures, and resolving any issues across the venue that may arise. They also play a key role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all that enter Southport Sharks.

This role works in conjunction with senior management and plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities and providing exceptional customer service.

Additionally, this position includes responsibilities to:

- Monitor and maintain operational standards throughout the organisation
- Provide hands-on leadership support for the day to day workings on the Club, assisting with training and supervising of team members to uphold the exceptional service standards
- Exercise effective staff management through performance management, disciplinary action, promoting morale and fostering a professional attitude
- Completion of Duty Manager Operations and Entertainment reports
- Accountability for the security of safes, floats, tills and cash
- Ensuring compliance with all regulations and legislation around liquor and gaming licensing and work health & safety
- Maintain effective communication with Senior Management, Department Managers and other staff to convey important information and updates in relation to the operation
- Report any incidents or developments that occur
- Assume role of Chief Fire Warden in the event of an emergency situation

**Required skills & experience...**
- Experience as a Duty Manager is advantageous
- Management/supervisory experience within the Hospitality/Clubs industry
- Proficiency with cash handling
- Outstanding customer service skills and ability to handle patrons courteously and professionally
- Personable and trustworthy with staffing matters
- Working knowledge of Keno, TAB and Gaming machine operations
- Thorough knowledge of the QLD Liquor Act, Gaming Act, Food Safety Act, Fair Work Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing act, Club Industry award and any other legislation relative to the operation of a licensed venue

- Current RMLV and Liquor Approved Managers Licence
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Current Blue Card
- Current Police Check
- TABCORP Certificate
