Casual Roles for Certificate III and IV Education Support Graduates / Teacher's Aide

Are you looking for a rewarding and flexible casual role that can utilize your skills and fit around school hours work commitments?

We have an urgent need to fill this role to cover existing clients in the Newcastle / Upper Lake Macquarie area.

We have an ongoing need for persons holding an Education Support qualification to work as Life Skills Coaches in Literacy and Numeracy. Our students are NDIS recipients who need additional support to progress lifetime learning outcomes and transition through school to tertiary studies.

Some Key points about this role:

- Work hours are generally outside normal school hours.
- Sessions are 2 hrs conducted in the student’s home which may include travel time.
- While we pay a travel allowance (time and per Km) but are generally looking for people within a short driving distance of the location.
- Students enrol for either 6 or 12 months so work is reliable and regular.
- You will be assisting students to learn Life Skills in Literacy and Numeracy to transition into employment or even to tertiary studies in some cases.
- All students have some level of Special Needs covered by your qualification.
- You will provide coaching in literacy and numeracy covering school English and Maths using the special needs teaching techniques you have learned at TAFE.
- We provide tools that give you in-class materials for students to practice concepts you cover and automatically mark work you give them to complete.
- You can accept jobs for as few, or as many, students that fit your schedule.
- Because you travel to student homes nearby your home you need access to a vehicle (we also reimburse at ATO rate for km travelled)
- Due to the demanding nature of one-to-one Special Needs coaching we need you to be abl eto demonstrate prior experience working in a support role with persons that have Special Needs.
