Working in our Facilities team, you'll play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the built environment across some of Melbourne's most unique open spaces. This 6-month, full-time position offers the opportunity to work independently across multiple sites, while being supported by a collaborative and professional team. **The Role**:
We are looking for a proactive and experienced **Facilities & Asset Coordinator**to manage and maintain the built environment across multiple Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust (SMCT) sites. You will be responsible for coordinating infrastructure works and supporting the timely delivery of both reactive and planned maintenance.

This is a full-time, 6-month position where you will work independently across sites while being supported by a professional and collaborative team.

In this role, you will:

- Coordinate day-to-day maintenance and facilities activities across SMCT sites, managing requests through the Urbanise system.
- Supervise contractors and ensure safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of works.
- Conduct asset audits and condition reporting to maintain data integrity and lifecycle planning.
- Oversee reactive and preventative maintenance across key infrastructure services (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, fire systems, irrigation, and electrical).
- Manage site inductions for all contractors and ensure adherence to SMCT's safety standards.
- Monitor and report on unplanned asset downtime, prioritising critical issues to meet SLA requirements.
- Provide customer-focused support to internal teams and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
- Contribute to the preparation and monitoring of operational and capital budgets.
- Identify risks and broader sustainability and compliance frameworks.

**Your Profile**:
To succeed in this role, you will be a hands-on, solutions-focused professional with strong knowledge of facilities coordination and a proactive approach to managing competing priorities.

You will bring:

- Proven experience in facilities, operations, or asset maintenance coordination.
- Practical knowledge of infrastructure systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, irrigation, and fire safety.
- Strong stakeholder and contractor management skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Well-developed time management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills, particularly when managing high job volumes.
- Confidence using digital systems and tools, including Microsoft Office and asset management platforms
- Understanding of compliance, WHS standards, and risk management processes.
- A current unrestricted Australian driver's licence
- A trade qualification or diploma in facilities management, operations, or a related field (highly regarded).
