**The Role**
Materiel Procurement Branch (MPB) has an exciting opportunity for talented commercial, contracting and procurement specialists who can drive innovative commercial outcomes in support of a wide range of major Australian Defence Force (ADF) capabilities.
You will be responsible for the coordination and management of specialist advice including legal, financial and Australian Industry Capability. You will be responsible for contributing to a high performing team, developing and fostering productive relationships with stakeholders and clients, communicating with influence and driving for commercial outcomes that comply with Commonwealth Government legislation and policy requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist with and undertake procurement planning, tendering and contract formation and contract management activities, ensuring compliance with legislation, procurement policies, processes and procedures.
- Provide guidance, advice and services during the procurement lifecycle on contracting activities including coordination of legal and financial services.
- Draft and review contracting correspondence including complex, commercially sensitive reports, submissions, contract change proposals and other documents as required.
- Understand and provide advice on commercial risk, legal principles and contractual performance requirements.
- Build, sustain and encourage productive relationships with team members and actively participate in team work and group activities.
- Analyse risks and develop mitigation strategies for the risks associated with procurement and contracting activities, contract performance and compliance with legislative and policy frameworks.
- Take the initiative to seek and act on feedback from supervisor to confirm agreed performance.
**About Our Team**
MPB delivers commercial, contracting and procurement solutions and expertise for the acquisition and sustainment of materiel for the ADF which enables Defence to meet its strategic objectives, maximise value for money for taxpayers and meet legislative and mandatory policy requirements.
The advertised position is located at Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Amberley, and sits under the broader MPB Qld team. MPB Amberley provides support to Systems Program Offices responsible for sustaining and enhancing the RAAF’s KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport, C-17A Globemaster Heavy Lift Transport, Boeing Business Jet and Falcon 7X Special Purpose Aircraft capabilities for Air Force, and the RAAF’s Super Hornet and Growler aircraft fleets.
