**About the role**:
**Key responsibilities**:
The Cloud Security Specialist will be responsible for the following:

- Providing advice and ensuring the compliance and/or accreditation of ICT systems is maintained, and security documentation is up to date.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders for information solutions and advice to improve decision making and outcomes for the organisation in relation to information security risk posture. Communicating with all areas of the business, including executives, technical staff, and end-users.
- Identifying, understanding, and managing information security in accordance with best practice frameworks, industry standards, the goals of the agency and the corporate governance framework.
- Ensuring information security risks are identified and communicated with appropriate recommendations
- Maturing the security design proactively and verifying secure solutions are being delivered as part of the overall enterprise architecture processes.
- Responding to, managing, and mitigating the impact of information security issues, breaches, and incidents, maintaining an accurate and complete audit trail.
- Perform risk assessments if architecture design requirements are identified
- The role may have quarterly Key Performance Indicators to maintain.
- Current and varied experience across public and private sector is highly desirable.

**Mandatory criteria**:

- Experience as a security specialist in a cloud environment (AWS and Azure)
- Knowledge of AWS Well Architected Framework and Public Cloud industry standards and best practices
- Technical writing skills for documenting environments and procedures
- Experience with most industry compliance and security standards like PCI DSS, SOC-1&2, ISO 27001, NIST/DoD, SAS70, FISMA, HIPAA, and NIST
- Experience with most continuous security practices, including threat modelling, threat and vulnerability management, secure coding practices, and automated penetration testing
- Experience with security solutions such as WAF, IPS, and anti-DDOS systems
- Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g., security, privacy, SOX etc.).
- Experience with network / perimeter security platforms
- Experience with encryption in-flight and at-rest practices, as well as certificate and secrets management, security event & incident management (SIEM)
- Experience performing security assessments and managing breaches
- Implementation experience with enterprise security software identity management and federation systems

**Highly desirable criteria**:

- ONE of the certifications: CISSP, CISA, CISM, ISO27001 LA/LI, SANS (mandatory)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
- AWS Security - Specialty
- Azure Security Engineer
