Enterprise Cloud Security Lead

Are you a hands-on cyber security leader with a passion for building secure, resilient cloud environments? We're looking for an experienced Enterprise Cloud Security Lead to strengthen and mature Affinity Education's cloud, identity, and endpoint security posture across Microsoft 365.

In this key role, you'll provide technical leadership and operational oversight to enhance security controls, uplift Essential 8 maturity, and ensure our systems safeguard the data and wellbeing of our staff, children, and families.

The role

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continual improvement of cloud and identity security controls.
  • Administer and mature Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, and privileged access workflows.
  • Manage Microsoft 365 security and compliance solutions including Defender, Purview/DLP, and Secure Collaboration.
  • Oversee Intune device management and CrowdStrike endpoint protection to maintain strong device compliance.
  • Lead the deployment and integration of a new SIEM platform (such as Sentinel or Splunk) to enhance monitoring and incident response.
  • Drive alignment with ISO 27001 and uplift against the Essential 8 controls.
  • Coordinate the response to security incidents, ensuring effective remediation and continual improvement.
  • Build a strong security culture through awareness, training, and clear communication with non-technical teams.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise administering and securing Microsoft 365 and Entra ID environments, including SSO integrations.
  • Strong working knowledge of Intune device management, CrowdStrike, and enterprise email security (Mimecast or similar).
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Defender suite, Conditional Access, and privileged access management.
  • Understanding of Essential 8 and ISO 27001 frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence and guide others.
  • A collaborative mindset and the confidence to take initiative in a growing, security-focused environment.
