- We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced administrative officer to join our Cardiac Diagnostics Department on a casual basis.
- Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses for the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.
**About the department**
- The department provides 24-hour echocardiography and cardiac catheterisation laboratory services for acute myocardial infarction. In-patients are managed predominantly in the 30-bed Cardiac and Thoracic Unit on Ward 5 East. The department has links to the University of Melbourne and a major involvement in teaching, training and research at under-graduate and post-graduate levels for both nursing and medical staff.
**About the role**
- This position plays and important role in creating a positive image for the Cardiology Department, being the first point of contact for patients, either in person or by telephone.
- Administrative Clerks also provide secretarial, reception and administrative support to facilitate the management of patients, their appointments and records within the department.
- Where required, the position will also be responsible for the identification of billable patients, provision of the correct billing codes to the Finance Department, reconciliation between systems and follow-up of billing.

- Demonstrated computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of hospital management systems (i.e. TrakCare, Cerner and Cardiobase)
