**About the role**:
Lead the charge in Health and Safety for Integrated Gas’s (IG) Asset Services Business Unit, overseeing a dedicated team of embedded Health & Safety Advisors to safeguarde175 employees, plus contractors, and service providers, with a reach of approximately 2.5 million exposure hours. In this pivotal leadership role you’ll partner closely with the Asset Services Leadership team, including General Manager and Operations Managers to set strategic direction, drive HSE best practices, and align closely with Origin's broader business and HSE objectives. A critical focus on this role will be interfacing and engaging with contractors who deliver most of the frontline work, supporting them in high-risk environments and ensuring their alignment with our HSE standards.

With a focus on risk management and critical control maintenance, you'll offer expert guidance and coaching to ensure our team operates at the highest standards of safety and compliance. In this role you will also oversee Regulatory Compliance for the whole IG business and you’ll also serve as the primary liaison for external bodies and maintain key partnerships with APLNG on HSE matters, from incident management to audits and reporting.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Serve as a strategic HSE partner for Business Unit leaders, drivngh best practices, compliance, and culture improvements, with a special focus on contractor engagement.
- Oversee contract management, including risk assessments, governance, tender reviews, and onboarding to ensure HSE obligations are upheld.
- Lead development and execution of HSE strategies aligned with Origin and BU goals and improvement needs, fostering a collaborative environment with contractors.
- Drive HSE performance improvement initiatives, focusing on risk mitigation across the Business Unit and supporting contractors to enhace HSE outcomes
- Act as the primary liaison with external bodies and manage relations to support HSE objectives.

**What will you bring?**
- Extensive experience in HSE or operational leadership in high-risk industries (eg oil and gas, mining), with a proven ability to influence and drive cultural change.
- Strong experience in interfacing and collaborating with contractors in high-risk environments, particularly contractor management and engagement.
- Proven experience in leading HSE for workovers, major maintenance and turnarounds, ideally in collaboration with contractors.
- Strength in managing HSE systems, risk management, and compliance with a demonstrated record of improving HSE outcomes.
- Proven track record in incident investigation and audit management.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
