Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development, implementation, and continual improvement of project-specific HSE systems, procedures, and initiatives.
• Provide expert HSE guidance and support to site leadership, supervisors, and workforce.
• Conduct assurance activities ensuring overall compliance to HSE systems, procedures, and initiatives.
• Promote safety engagement and accountability at all levels through training, toolbox talks, and visible field leadership.
• Monitor contractor HSE performance and ensure alignment with company and client expectations.
• Establish and maintain disciplined practises towards onboarding activities for both MPK employees and subcontractors alike, by being proactive working with project staff, HR teams and commercial teams.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards.
• Support reporting obligations including internal KPIs, client reports, and regulator notifications
• Support the site construction leadership team with environmental compliance by leading training and education programs

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Minimum 7–10 years' experience in HSE leadership roles within oil & gas, mining, or heavy infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience managing HSE on greenfield or brownfield gas gathering, pipeline, or related civil construction projects.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in WHS, Environmental Management, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of Queensland HSE legislation and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training (highly regarded).
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable).
