Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.

**CCV**

The County Court of Victoria is established pursuant to the County Court Act 1958. It has original and appellate jurisdiction and is the principal trial court in the State of Victoria. The Court hears over 12,000 criminal, common law, and commercial cases each year. The County Court has unlimited monetary jurisdiction in common law and commercial matters. In its criminal jurisdiction, the Court hears all indictable offences except treason, murder, and related offences.

There are a total of 80 Judges of the Court and over 300 staff, including judicial support staff. The County Court regularly conducts circuit sittings at 12 circuit courts situated in major centres throughout regional Victoria.

**About the Role**

This is a unique leadership opportunity to support the professional development of Associates and other judicial support staff across the County Court of Victoria. You will lead a small, specialised team focused on delivering high-quality learning programs and practice resources that enable staff to perform.... confidently and effectively.

Position purpose

The Manager
- Practice Excellence plays a key role in building capability and embedding professional standards across the Court.

This role will deliver contemporary, responsive and innovative learning programs and will support the judicial officers of the court delivering on the Court's purpose to dispense justice in a timely and accessible way. The role will support a dynamic learning culture characterised by practice excellence across the Court's judicial support staff cohort.

Duties
- Lead the Practice Excellence team to deliver targeted learning and development initiatives.
- Oversee the creation and review of practice materials, manuals and training content aligned with legislation and court procedures.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure resources are accurate, relevant and responsive to operational needs.
- Monitor feedback and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and tailored training.
- Ensure consistent and high-qualitypractice standards across the Associate and Tipstaves cohort through effective leadership, guidance, and implementation of best practice frameworks.

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- A sound understanding of the Victorian legal system, particularly the County Court's jurisdiction.
- Experience as an Associate or in a judicial support role (highly regarded).
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A current Victorian Driver Licence.

**Qualifications**
- A law degree and/or experience within a legal environment (viewed favourably).
- Qualifications or experience in adult learning, instructional design or workplace training (desirable).
